Kiteboarding fans, this one’s for you. In our first ever YouTube gear review, we take a deep dive into the differences between the Duotone Evo SLS 2024 and the brand new 2025 Evo SLS, Duotone’s flagship freeride kite.
Joining Sam (owner of Worthing Watersports) is Jake, a high-level big air kiter from Worthing who you might know as the guy who jumped the pier. We caught up on the green for a relaxed, honest chat about the kites after a full day of testing them back-to-back in proper UK conditions.
What’s changed in the 2025 Evo SLS?
The key word we kept coming back to was refined. The 2024 Evo SLS was already an excellent kite, but Duotone have made subtle but meaningful changes to the design and materials in 2025. The result?
- Added Mod 3S Material on the canopy
-
A kite with more power,
-
More direct bar feel,
-
And no compromises on what made the Evo SLS so good in the first place.
It’s better in all the right ways—and we don’t say that lightly.
We also touch on:
-
The Duotone Click Bar vs Trust Bar – and which is the perfect match for the Evo
-
A quick first look at the new ION Riot harness that Sam used on the day
-
Jake’s journey into big air kiteboarding and how long he’s been riding
