The Duotone Ultra FreeWave 2.0 SLS is a freewave windsurf board for intermediate to advanced riders. It covers bump and jump, side-on waves, and freestyle in a single versatile shape.

The Ultra FreeWave 2.0 freewave board was built around a potent new-school freestyle shape. Acceleration and pop come first. The board is then tuned to perform as a capable wave board in logo-high side-on waves. The outcome is a freewave windsurf board that never feels dull: crisp and responsive in a straight line, sharp and precise through the turn.

The new tail outline sharpens that responsiveness even further, making the board turn tighter and more spontaneously. You commit to the rail, and it follows.

New for the 2.0: a domier deck around the footstrap area delivers noticeably improved riding comfort especially across longer sessions. Your feet stay planted and relaxed even in choppy, powered-up conditions, so you can focus on the next move instead of managing fatigue.

The convertible fin setup is one of the board's defining strengths. Run the tri-fin configuration to unlock serious wave performance in top and bottom turns. Switch to a single fin for freestyle focus and a more driven, exciting feel.

Duotone Pro Pads: 8-10mm thick duo density EVA (depending on the board type) provides best dampening comfort and control. The higher-density outer layer features our signature heat pressed diamond groove pattern that protects the EVA against abrasion and provides maximum grip level and connection to the board. We only select EVA colours which don't look dirty after use and will also resist fading after hours in the sun.
WOOD SANDWICH TECHNOLOGY: The WOOD SANDWICH TECHNOLOGY consists of 40 individual parts and components and offers the best weight/durability vs. price ratio. This is achieved through combining the usual high density PVC sandwich foam with large wood reinforcement patches. This reduces the complexity of the layup which helps us to keep the price under control. Yet it leads to a very strong and just slightly heavier board compared to our Premium Sandwich Technology. We think there is no better performance for value construction out there.
Fin Configuration: All FreeWave sizes come with a Powerbox single fin - reduced weight and maximum Plug & Play.FreeWave SLS 75 to 105 come with a thruster setup offering even more grip during manoeuvres and turns (get delivered with 1 Powerbox center fin plus 2 Slotbox side fins).FreeWave SLS 115 and 125 come with a Powerbox single fin. The 2 additional side Slotboxes offer the option to switch to a thruster setup.
PREMIUM SANDWICH TECHNOLOGY: The PREMIUM SANDWICH TECHNOLOGY consists of 50 individual parts and components and is our lightest semi custom technology. Achieved through lighter raw materials and a higher carbon content and a sophisticated layup with a much higher amount of load spot specific patches, stringers and reinforcements. Important these weight savings do not go to cost of durability. This is why as the first production brand we offer a 1 YEAR UNLIMITED WARRANTY on these boards when registered online (dents excluded).
FULL CUSTOM SLS TECHNOLOGY: The FULL CUSTOM SLS TECHNOLOGY is a full custom technology which is one hundred percent identical to high-end custom made boards.Instead of using a mould to bring the EPS foam core into its final shape each EPS block gets CNC milled. This ensures maximum precision and saves weight. Same as with high-end custom board makers the major advantage lays in the processing. We call this SINGLE PROCESS TECHNOLOGY and it is the key to our industry-leading weight-strength ratio. Instead of combining working steps to save time and money every single step follows its individual process. So for example instead of joining the PVC sandwich with the EPS core in a single shot we vacuum-bag the top and bottom PVC shields with the EPS core separately. For all SLS boards we use our most sophisticated layup which consists of more than 50 individual parts and components.The major difference compared to the FULL CUSTOM D/LAB TECHNOLOGY is the S-glass on the PVC sandwich for the SLS boards (like most wave boards on the market), while the D/LAB boards are equipped with a carbon-Innegra layer on the outside. Innegra is the best composite fibre to prevent dents. Dents caused by the mast touching the board (during catapults or when getting washed) are mainly an aesthetic issue. But if you want a board that stays dent-free, you should opt for the D/LAB version.Last but not least even every single board size has an individual layup. This allows us to cross-check the outcome using artificial intelligence to ensure maximum precision.Apart from being much more accurate and faster, complex 3D design tasks such as our ground-breaking SYNCED CURVES CONCEPT would otherwise have been simply impossible to realize.
SYNCED CURVES CONCEPT: Outline, rocker and rail shape are the 3 key elements that determine how a board feels and performs. In every rocker- and outline there are spots with more or less curvature. The same applies to the degree of rail curvature which changes considerably. To prevent the 3 curves from working "against" each other, the highest priority is to synchronize these curves. Means that in zones with an increased rocker curve, the outline curve is also increased plus the rails have an increased curvature and vice versa.>> Increased outline curve, nose rocker and rail curvature around the mast track makes it easier to initiate the bottom turn (front foot initiated)>> Increased outline curve, tail rocker and rail curvature behind the back strap for more radical top turns (back foot initiated)To our knowledge this complex 3d task can only be performed by our own AI_BOARD_3D software.
