We’re incredibly proud to announce that Jenna Gibson, a sponsored rider of Worthing Watersports, has officially claimed the title of Women’s Speed World Champion 2025 – and she did it in style on the latest Duotone FALCON_SPEED D/LAB gear!
After breaking the women’s world speed record last year in Lüderitz, Jenna returned stronger than ever, pushing limits and showing the world exactly why she’s the fastest woman on water.
Dominating the Speed World Championships
Jenna didn’t just turn up – she dominated. Despite narrowly missing out on a win at last year’s championships, she came back with grit, determination, and an upgraded quiver of performance-driven gear. On her Duotone Warp_Fin 5.0 and 5.8, paired with the Falcon Speed D/LAB and 21cm F-Hot fin, Jenna was fully equipped to handle everything from 25 to 40-knot winds.
Here’s what she had to say about the event:
“After a good first day of competition, the offshore wind we need for speedsailing completely disappeared. We stayed active with foil racing, slalom freesailing, and hanging out with the crew. Luckily, the Tramontana returned for the final two days, letting us get in three solid fin races. With tricky gusts and shallow sandbars everywhere, it was a true test of nerve — but taking more runs gave me the chance to catch the perfect gust. I’m over the moon to come away with the win!”
It’s an incredible achievement, and we’re stoked to see Jenna flying the Worthing Watersports flag on the global stage. She’s not just fast – she’s world champion fast.
Simon Pettifer Cracks the Top 15
Another standout performance came from another Worthing Watersports Duotone Rider - Simon Pettifer, who’s fast making a name for himself in the international speed scene. Simon had his sights set on the top 10 and, after a strong start, sat in 3rd after two days. Although he just missed out on the top 10 overall (finishing 11th), it was a fantastic showing and a sign of great things to come.
“The gear was incredible – the 6.8 is a beast on a square course, and the 5.8 was super powerful and controllable. We had wind, flat water, some cheeky sandbars, and a whole lot of fun. Great event and great memories!”
We’re excited to see what Simon brings to the next event – he’s clearly one to watch!
Young Talent: Isabelle Westerveld
At just 12 years old, Isabelle Westerveld is already turning heads. She joined the first day of the event and smashed her personal speed records several times. With support and coaching from event organiser Principe Baldini, Isabelle’s confidence and talent are growing fast – and she’s clearly one for the future!
Huge Thanks to the Team
Massive thanks to Principe Baldini for organising such an epic event, and to Aurélien Toulan for capturing the action with some stunning photography.
And of course, a huge shoutout to our Duotone team riders for proving once again that our gear doesn’t just compete – it wins.
