Duotone NTT 360 Binding Review — Tested for a Month

Welcome back to another Worthing Watersports video — it's that time of year when all the designers' hard work over the winter finally lands with us, and we get to hand it straight on to you. It's easy to overlook, but how good your bindings are basically decides how good your board feels underfoot. Small part, big difference.

The new Duotone NTT 360 is one of those small parts. No straps, no Velcro — instead a Dyneema cord that wraps all the way round your foot (hence "360") and tightens or loosens with a single twist of a dial, even while you're stood on the board on the water. Sam's had a pair on his own demo board for about a month now, and this post rounds up what's actually changed versus a normal strap binding.

A completely different way to get locked in

Duotone's previous top binding, the Entity, already had a good reputation — a custom-moulded footbed and a strap that splits in two so you can tighten the front and loosen the back independently. The NTT 360 goes further. Instead of pulling a strap tight and hoping it stretches into place, a Dyneema cord runs all the way round your foot and tightens or loosens with a dial: twist forward to tighten both sides, twist back to loosen. You get a proper, satisfying click when you're locked in.

The two sides aren't identical — they're mirrored — but the action is the same on both: twist forward, tighten; twist back, loosen. No wrestling a strap over a wet boot, no Velcro clogging up with sand.

Adjustable while you're still on the water

This is the bit that actually changes how you ride. Sam's been using the NTT 360 to go out locked in tight when it's windy, then loosen off mid-session the moment the wind drops and he fancies trying some board-offs — all without coming in. It's also brilliant if you share a board, which Sam does with demo customers: whoever's borrowing it can just step in and dial their own fit in seconds, no fiddling with someone else's strap settings.

Lighter, and more noticeably so once they're wet

Sam weighed a pair on the shop scales and found them around 60g lighter than the equivalent strap bindings — worth noting his pair were slightly damp at the time, so take that as a rough figure rather than a lab result. There's simply less material in the build, which should mean the weight difference becomes more noticeable once a strap binding has properly soaked up water and the NTT 360 hasn't. It's not a huge number on its own, and it's not the reason to buy these — but if you're running an SLS or carbon board and trying to keep the overall weight down, every gram counts. For most riders, it'll be the ease of use that sells it, not the scales.

Sizing and the heel wedge

The NTT 360 comes in the same four sizes as before — S, M, L and XL — with a removable, replaceable heel wedge fitted as standard in the medium setting. Duotone stopped bundling a full set of different-sized wedges and buckles a while back, simply because most riders never swapped them — less wasted plastic in the box. The older Vario binding, by comparison, has a fixed heel wedge with no adjustability at all.

Built with travelling in mind

If you take your bindings off the board to pack flat for travel, you'll know the real risk isn't the flight — it's turning up at the beach having lost a bolt in your bag. The NTT 360 has a built-in insert on the underside of the strap that holds a spare bolt securely (secure enough that Sam had to work to get it back out), plus a plug at the top that the washers clip into so they don't go walkabout either.
