Duotone Click Bar vs Trust Bar 2027 — Which Bar, Which Size, Which Lines? - Worthing Watersports

Bars are the part of a kite setup people most often get wrong, and it's not their fault. The Click Bar has Small and Medium. The Trust Bar has Small-Medium and Medium-Large. Both come in different line lengths, and the names don't line up. And Duotone doesn't make the bar widths easy to find, which is a real problem if you're switching brands and want to know exactly what you're getting. This is the plain-English guide to every 2027 option, and which one you actually need.

2027 bar Bar sizes Line lengths Price
Click Bar Quad Control Small (42 cm wide) 20-22m £629
Click Bar Quad Control Medium (49 cm wide) 22-24m, or 12-24m £629
Trust Bar Quad Control Small-Medium (flips between 42 and 49 cm) 22-24m, or 12-24m £459
Trust Bar Quad Control Medium-Large 22-24m only £459

Click Bar or Trust Bar?

For most riders, the Click Bar. It's the one to big up, because the technology is patented and no other brand has it. The depower and trim system is fully integrated into the bar, so there's no loose depower line swinging around in front of you while you ride. It's clean, it's tidy, and the push-button trim lets you add or remove power in precise steps without letting go. Add the Click-In Safety System, which resets in seconds after a release, and it's the benchmark for kite control.

For general freeride and for kite surfboard riding, the Click Bar is definitely the better bar.

So why does anyone buy a Trust Bar? Two honest reasons. First, it's cheaper: £459 against £629. Second, some big air riders doing multiple kite loops like the freedom of a central line that isn't running through a rubber floater. The Trust Bar is a very good bar, and it's a sensible choice if budget is the deciding factor, but for most riders the Click Bar is the one to have.

What's new for 2027

The Click Bar drops the front line stopper ball, and now ships with the Low V-Distributor in the box so you can fit it if you need it. It comes in a new colourway. The Trust Bar gets the DPL24 depower line in black, plus additional frontline pigtails for finer trim.

Which line length do you need?

Almost everyone should go for 22-24m (or 20-22m on the Click Bar Small). That's the length the vast majority of riders use, and it's what the kite is designed around.

The 12-24m option includes short lines and is aimed at specific needs. Shorter lines are usually for kite schools, for riders doing very technical big air tricks, or for foiling when you want the kite much closer to you. Generally, shorter lines are not very popular, and unless you have one of those reasons, you don't need them.

Which Trust Bar size?

Small-Medium is the one most freeriders want. The bar flips between 42 and 49 cm, so it covers most riders and most kite sizes.

Medium-Large is a specialist choice. It's for dedicated big air riders who want to throw kite loops, and sometimes for foilers flying a big kite who want it to turn faster. We don't recommend it for general freeride, because it will make your kite turn very fast.

Don't forget the quick release kit

This catches people out every season: neither the Click Bar nor the Trust Bar comes with a quick release kit. That means no chicken dig and no chicken loop in the box. You need to order one separately, and the right one depends on how you ride.

There are kits for freeride, freestyle and wakestyle, and a specific kit for riding with a rope harness. There's also the new Combi Kit, which pairs the larger chicken loop with the shorter front-facing safety leash. If you don't need a leash, you can buy a chicken loop (Small 16.5 cm or Large 24 cm) and a chicken dig individually.

⚠️ Match your sizes

If you buy the chicken loop and chicken dig separately, the sizes must match. A Small chicken dig goes with a Small chicken loop, and a Large chicken dig goes with a Large chicken loop. Mixing them isn't safe.

💡 Sam's Tip

If you're not sure, pick the Click Bar in Medium with 22-24m lines. If you ride a smaller kite or you're lighter, take the Small. And if you'd rather save some money, have a look at the 2026 Click Bar in our End of Season Sale: £463.95 instead of £619, a saving of over £155. We have plenty of the Medium 22-24m in stock, and the Small too.
