The 2023 GWA Wing Foil World Tour season could not have ended better than this! Nia Suardiaz, who officially secured the GWA FreeFly-Slalom and Surf-Freestyle World titles earlier this year, clinched yet another decisive victory in FreeFly-Slalom and secured a 2nd place in Freestyle at the final event in Brazil, sealing the deal on an exceptional season!
The Suardiaz/Muenzinger family lives in Tarifa, Southern Spain, just five minutes away from the water. At the age of four, she already stood on a Windsurfing board, which she liked a lot, but was never really "hooked" on it. She probably would still be Windsurfing today if she hadn't taken a Wing Foiling course with a friend!
Last year Nia had her first World Cup victory at the age of 15 – after only about just over a year of Wing Foiling. This year she is still only 16 years old and finished the season two World Champion and two Vice World Champion titles!
But how is that possible in such a short time and at that young age? We caught up with Nia to find out a bit more about that young German/Spanish superstar.
