Duotone's Young Blood programme exists for exactly one reason: to get talented young riders in front of the people who can actually move them forward — professional athletes, proper coaching, and a first look at next season's gear. This year's UK camp is happening at Calshot Activities Centre on 29th August, and it's free to attend.
It's aimed at wing foilers and kiters aged 10 to 17 who already have some time on the water and their own kit, rather than complete beginners. If that's your kid, a junior rider you coach, or someone you know who's been putting the hours in this summer, this is the kind of day that's hard to arrange any other way — pro coaching, brand-new equipment to try, and a genuine shot at getting noticed.
One thing to move on quickly, though: applications close 17th August. That's a tight window, so if you know a rider who fits the bill, get the details in front of them today rather than next week.

What's actually in the day
This isn't a taster session bolted onto a demo day — it's a full programme run by professional winging and kiting athletes and trainers, with riders grouped by level so nobody's out of their depth or held back.
- Technical on-water coaching from pro athletes and trainers
- Beach-based instruction and wind/water education
- Gear training, including the chance to test the latest Duotone and ION equipment
- Physical training and stretching sessions
- Groups organised by rider level
- Food, drinks and lunch provided
- A Duotone rash vest, T-shirt and cap to take home
- Social activities after coaching finishes, including dinner and a climbing wall session
Who it's for
Riders aged 10–17 with previous wing foil or kite experience — this is built to develop riders who are already on the water, not to teach someone from scratch. Everyone needs to bring their own equipment; the Duotone and ION gear on offer is for testing during the sessions, not a loan kit for the day.
And it's genuinely worth applying even if you don't think of your rider as a "team rider in waiting." Meeting Duotone Team Riders and getting a full day of structured, professional coaching is a big step up for anyone at this age, regardless of where they end up afterwards.

💡 Sam's Tip
Don't let the free coaching fool you into thinking this is low-key — it's run by professional athletes, and the gear-testing and social side (dinner, climbing wall) tell you it's set up to feel like a proper team event, not a one-off lesson. If you're on the fence about whether your rider is "ready," previous experience is the bar, not competition results — so if they've genuinely got time on a wing or a kite already, they're eligible. The deadline is the real constraint here, not the standard, so get the application in this week.
