We published the Duotone Flow blog not long ago, and the response was good — it's clearly a shape that resonates. Today, a second version of the same board lands: the Duotone Flow Bamboo. Same Malibu-longboard inspired outline, same sizes, same fin setup — but built using Duotone's Full Custom Bamboo construction, which takes everything that works about the Flow and makes it stiffer, lighter, and more direct underfoot.
If the standard Flow is the approachable all-rounder, the Flow Bamboo is what you choose when you want every paddle stroke and every weight shift to translate instantly into the board. No delay, no wasted energy — just an immediate, lively connection to the water beneath you.

Same Shape. Better Build.
The Flow Bamboo shares its outline completely with the standard Flow — that wide, rounded Malibu-inspired nose, generous mid-section volume and refined squash tail are all identical. What changes is everything underneath the skin. Where the standard Flow uses Duotone's Custom CNC composite-wood sandwich construction, the Flow Bamboo steps up to Full Custom Bamboo technology: a composite-bamboo-PVC sandwich over an individually CNC-milled EPS core, built using Duotone's Single Process Technology.
That means instead of using a mould to shape the foam core, each EPS block is CNC-milled individually for maximum precision and weight saving — the same approach used by high-end custom board makers. The top and bottom PVC shields are then vacuum-bagged with the EPS core separately rather than combined in a single shot, and the bamboo sandwich on the deck distributes peak loads evenly for added long-term durability. The result is a layup of more than 20 individual parts and components, with each board size getting its own individual layup — the final stage of customisation.
What Bamboo Construction Actually Means on the Water
The practical difference comes down to feel. The Full Custom Bamboo build produces a board that's noticeably stiffer and more direct than its composite-wood sibling — which means more efficient glide on flat water (every stroke goes further), and a more confident, lively response when you're riding waves. The board reacts exactly when you want it to, with no softness in the deck to absorb energy that should be going into your turn.
It also comes out lighter. The 10'0" x 29" weighs in at 8.60kg versus 8.90kg for the Custom CNC version, and the 10'6" drops to 10.00kg from 10.40kg — not dramatic numbers, but meaningful when you're carrying the board down the beach or loading it on the roof after a session.
Everything Else You Already Know
Because the shape is identical to the standard Flow, everything that made that board work still applies here. The flat spot deck shape gives you a stable, jetty-like platform right where you stand. The Duo Structure 4mm EVA pads — diamond pattern in the centre, longitudinal cord-groove at the rear — keep you locked in during turns. The EVA kick-pad holds your back foot in position through pivot turns, and the double-sided grab handle makes the carry in and out manageable.
The 2+1 Tri fin setup (two Multi-compatible side boxes plus a US centre box) delivers the same tracking and manoeuvrability combination across the range: excellent straight-line stability when you need it, responsive carving when you want it. The asymmetrical side fins provide additional grip even through pivot turns.
The bottom shape runs flat single-concave into V double-concave into an opening V from nose to tail — accelerating on the take-off, stabilising underfoot, releasing cleanly off the tail in turns. A classic longboard rocker line ties it all together, keeping the emphasis on flowing carves rather than forced, nose-lifting pivots.
