Bought mainly for sea swimming and to take the agony out of walking over the pebbles, I've found they make walking over stony beaches easy and protect against the worst of hidden rocks when wading ashore. the 2mm neoprene makes them effective against the worst of the cold water in winter and they're flexible but hard-wearing. Shock cord ties at the ankle and Velcro straps make them easy to get on and off but secure on your feet.. The soles are grippy so work well on SUPs, too. Undersized compared with UK size label, mine are 2 UK sizes bigger than my regular shoe size.
