The Super_Hero D/LAB is the sail at the top of Duotone's wave range, and the one the World Cup riders are on. For 2027 it's a colour update rather than a new design — the sail itself has been a proven part of the line-up for several seasons, and that's exactly why it's still the one to beat.

What's changed for 2027
Colour and graphics. That's the update, and it's worth being straight about it. Three colourways for 2027: violet/white, white/violet and red/white, with prices the same across all three. If you're sitting on a Super_Hero D/LAB from a previous year, there's no performance reason to replace it — buy the new one because you want the colour, or because you're adding a size.
Why it's still the flagship
The D/LAB is Duotone's lightest build of the Super_Hero, using fused panels in place of stitched joins and Carbon XPly in the high-load areas — the clew, top and foot — where stretch turns your input into mush. The centre panel stays in regular XPly so the power stays progressive rather than snapping on.
The practical effect is a sail that does what you asked a fraction earlier, which on a down-the-line turn is the difference between making the section and watching it go.
The quiver argument
The wind range is wide enough that a two-sail quiver of 5.0 and 4.2 covers what used to take three sails. For a UK sailor that is the interesting bit — not the World Cup pedigree, but one less sail in the van and one less rigging decision on a gusty day.

💡 Sam's Tip
If you are buying two sails rather than a full quiver, 4.2 and 5.0 is the pairing the range is built around and it is the one I would go for. If you already own Super_Hero sails, don't replace the whole quiver for a colour change — put the D/LAB in the size you use most and keep what you have either side of it. And register the sail when it arrives, or the 5 year warranty is only 2.
