Duotone Rebel SLS 2027 — Faster Climb, More Dynamic Jump - Worthing Watersports

The Rebel SLS is the hangtime kite, and this year's changes are all aimed at the part of a jump most people get wrong — the climb.

Six to 14m, in pink/grey, grey/light-lime and undyed Concept Blue.

The leading edge is the story

Duotone have optimised the leading edge for reduced drag, and combined with a cleaner canopy profile for smoother airflow the result is a faster climb and a more dynamic jump response. In practice that means less of the kite dragging its heels as you send it and more of it actually going up when you ask.

Structural stiffness is up too, running 9 PSI up to 10m and 8 PSI from 11m, which keeps the frame honest under the loads a proper Big Air send puts through it.

Balanced across the whole size range

This is the change that doesn't sound exciting but matters most if you own more than one. Kites are usually developed around a middle size and the ends of the range end up feeling like relations rather than the same kite. Duotone say the 2027 Rebel SLS is balanced across the entire size range — so a 8m and a 13m should behave like each other. If you run a two- or three-kite quiver, that consistency is worth more than any single spec change.

Rebel SLS or Rebel D/LAB?

The D/LAB is the lighter, more reactive build with the fastest depower and the most intuitive bar feedback, and it goes to 13m. The SLS gives you the huge hangtime, powerful loops and sheet-and-go takeoffs at a friendlier price, and it goes up to 14m, which the D/LAB doesn't. If your local wind is marginal more often than it's strong, that 14m is a genuine reason to choose SLS.

💡 Sam's Tip

If you want to boost and that's the priority, get the Rebel and pair it with the new Big Air Handle and the TS Big Air SLS board. If you also want to ride waves and do a bit of everything, the Evo is the smarter buy and you'll still jump plenty high. Don't buy a Rebel because it's the flagship — buy it because you're actually sending it.
