The DUKE SLS features a slightly forward draft position, but with a defined flexibility. We call this DEFINED DRAFT MOTION CONCEPT. Normally, this is a no-go for sails with “soft” epoxy battens, as any draft movement reduces the wind range. An inconspicuous detail with a massive impact. iROCKET 2.0 batten tensioners are super-lightweight, aerodynamic and highly stable, consisting of high-quality components such as a self-lubricating, salt-water-resistant brass nut with stainless-steel screw which can withstand all batten tensions. Furthermore, the iROCKET 2.0 is an essential component for a true windsurfing revolution. 100% correct batten tension, correctly adjusted when purchased and forever after. We calibrate each individual batten at the factory according to development specifications. And we don’t just leave it up to blind intuition either – all battens are adjusted to 100% accuracy using torque wrenches. We also apply soluble screw adhesive to the locknuts so that the tension cannot be altered. This means that the batten tension remains absolutely correct and will never have to be adjusted again. Reinforcing threads made of composite fibers (e.g. Polyester, Dyneema, Carbon)We have been building Windsurfing sails since 1981 and have found that the film thickness is the most critical component. Only the film thickness determines how long the laminate can withstand UV radiation and how strong it is against puncture forces. The film thickness also has the greatest influence on the stretch of the laminate. As the reinforcement threads are like a fence, the elongation in-between the threads is still solely dependent on the film thickness.Especially on the big center panel above the window all brands try to optimize the weight. The usual method to bring down the weight is by reducing the film thickness while increasing the thread density. This results in the lowest possible weight.
