UK Windsurfing Update – August 2025 Round-Up
Written by Worthing Watersports • Proud supporters of the UK Windsurfing Association (UKWA)
August has been another action-packed month for windsurfing in the UK, with exciting events, impressive results and plenty of reasons to get out on the water. As long-time supporters of the UKWA, we love seeing how vibrant the UK windsurfing scene is—from grassroots riders to British pros competing internationally.
UKWA One Hour Classic returns to Stokes Bay (30–31 August)
The iconic UKWA One Hour Classic is back at Stokes Bay Sailing Club. The format is simple and super accessible: complete as many laps as you can in one hour, with separate races for fin, foil and wing. Whether you’re new to racing or a seasoned competitor, it’s one of the most inclusive UK windsurfing events on the calendar.
There’s industry-wide support and prizes from leading brands, plus event tees for the first pre-entries. Ready to get involved?

Cup 5 Course Racing (6–7 September)
We’re also heading back to Stokes Bay the following weekend for Cup 5 course racing. With only three Cup events left in 2025, this is a brilliant chance to race at a central south-coast venue with great facilities and atmosphere.

Scottish Fin & Foil success at Loch Ryan
The Scottish Fin & Foil stop at Loch Ryan, Stranraer delivered a full weekend of racing across fleets. Wing foil legend Denis Gordo called the one-hour marathon “mind-blowing and intense” with long upwind/downwind legs—exactly the kind of challenge we love to see in UK windsurfing competitions.
British riders shining internationally
On the world stage, British racers and wave sailors continue to impress. Recent PWA action in Tenerife saw strong performances across men’s and women’s fleets, with a standout slalom result from Scotty Stallman and a top-10 wave finish for Cori McFarlane—great signs for UK talent on the international circuit.
