Worth saying up front: for 2027 the Duotone sails are colourway updates rather than new shapes. So if you're happy with your rig, you can stop reading about sails. The news this year is all in the boards — and there's a fair bit of it.
Refined wave shapes, a Skate built in full D/LAB, two new Falcon race boards, a schooling board designed from scratch, and a fin range Duotone now make themselves.

Cosmic and Ultra Freewave 2.0 — sharper in the turn
The Cosmic D/LAB is the made-to-order World Cup wave board, and 2027 brings a new fin set with asymmetric side fins for more drive and grip. The layup has been refined again to save another 100–200g depending on length, there's a touch more nose rocker for punching through gnarly white water, and both the tail outline and the mid-front tuck line have been reworked for better turn-ability, grip and acceleration. Available in Cosmic (4) from 53 to 106 litres and Cosmic (3) from 76 to 106 litres.
The Cosmic 4 SLS stock board picks up the same nose rocker, tail outline and tuck line changes in 76, 82, 88 and 94 litres, landing in September.
The Ultra Freewave 2.0 gets a Domier deck around the footstrap area, which is the sort of change you feel three hours into a session rather than in the first ten minutes, plus a new tail outline for better turn-ability. Both D/LAB and SLS versions run 74 to 119 litres.
Skate D/LAB — built for durability, not lightness
The Skate shapes are unchanged, but it now comes in D/LAB construction. Interestingly Duotone chose not to spend that on weight — they've used the construction gain to make it more durable instead. For a freestyle board that lives its life being landed on, that's the right call. 86, 91, 98 and 107 litres, made to order, with six months extended warranty on registration.
A fin range Duotone now build themselves
This is the quiet highlight. Dani Aeberli and Kai Hopf — between them over 50 years of fin design — have built Duotone a completely new range, developed in Duotone's own 3D software and produced in Duotone's own facility with on-site QC. Rather than using one technology across every fin, they use three, depending on fin length and intended use. The range covers Fin Set Quad, Tri and F_Wave, plus F_Wave Single, F_Style, F_Ride in Power and Tuttle, and the Race D/LAB carbon prepreg Tuttle. A fin is still the cheapest way to change how a board rides.
Race, freeride and the new Alfa HD
Two new race boards arrive in autumn 2026: the Falcon_Fin D/LAB from 89 to 139 litres, and the Falcon_Foil D/LAB at 159 litres. Spring 2027 brings the Blitz D/LAB Aero limited edition in Hollow Shell D/LAB construction, an optically new Eagle and the Eagle One — a one-board-for-life concept in three carbon sizes — plus the Stingray foil-entry board and the Now at 112 litres for younger and smaller-frame riders.
And if you run a school or centre, the Alfa HD is worth a proper look. It's not an OEM shape with a Duotone sticker on it — it was developed from the ground up for 24/7 centre life. Abrasion-resistant EVA, stance markers that don't confuse a first-timer, colour-guided right-of-way markers, a dedicated school fin rather than an OEM one, the full Allgaier daggerboard system, CNC Tough Skin, and grab handles at both ends. 180, 210 and 240 litres, available now.

💡 Sam's Tip
Because the sails are carrying over this year, 2027 is a good season to put the money into the board or the fins instead. And if you've never had a made-to-order D/LAB, come and talk to us about it before you order a stock board — you pick the colours, it gets a serial number, and the shapes are the same proven ones. Second-hand buyers know exactly what they're looking at too, which helps when you come to sell it.
