The Duke SLS is the sail for people whose sessions don't fit one category — freewave one day, proper wave riding the next, and a fair amount of gusty nonsense in between. Duotone call its pull character chameleon, which sounds like marketing until you understand what it actually does.
Rig it on a single-fin freewave or small freeride board and it pulls slightly forward, keeping you driving. Put the same sail on a higher-drag multi-fin wave board and the pull spreads evenly across both hands, which is what you want when the section gets steep. No setup change. Seven sizes, 4.2 to 6.2, in stock.

Defined Draft Motion
The chameleon behaviour comes from a slightly forward draft position with tightly controlled flex. Carbon XPly batten pockets lock the battens and the draft in place with virtually no stretch — so you get the response of carbon battens while keeping glass battens, which survive being dragged through a wash rather than snapping.
Five battens without the usual penalty
More battens means more control and more range, and normally it also means worse low-end and more weight. The Batten Free Center concept — a bigger gap between the foot batten and the batten above the boom — makes the boom area inflate more easily, so you get 4-batten early planing with 5-batten control. The Stripped To The Max panel layout takes 400 to 500g out compared with the standard Duke.
Duke SLS or standard Duke?
Same shape and same concepts; the SLS is the lighter, more refined build and costs around £90 more per size. If you sail a lot, or you are moving between board types regularly, the weight saving is worth it. If you sail a handful of times a month, the standard Duke does the same job for less. New yellow/black colourway for 2027.

💡 Sam's Tip
This is the sail I'd point most south coast sailors at. Our wind is gusty and our waves are often small, and five battens handles that far better than a dedicated wave sail does. A 5.0 and a 5.8 covers a huge amount of the year here. Go for the Super_Hero SLS instead only if you are genuinely wave riding most sessions.
