The number to know is 82 grams — the weight of the full Aluula Gold frame in the 2027 Unit D/LAB. Wings and wing boards both land today, so this is the big wing drop of the year.
Foils follow next week on 9 September, so if you're building a complete setup you'll want to read both posts before you order.

Shorter strut, slimmer leading edge, better window
All three Units share the same changes this year, which is the useful bit — you don't have to buy the top model to get them. The shorter strut makes the wing noticeably more compact in the hand and improves flagging stability, which is the thing you actually care about when you're trying to get back on the board in chop. There's a new MOD3s canopy for better draft stability and durability, moulded mini batten pockets, a wide leading-edge handle for surfing, and a new window layout that's genuinely easier to see through.
Every Unit also comes with the Fusion Boom and Handle option, so you choose boom or handles rather than being stuck with whichever the wing shipped with.
D/LAB or SLS?
The Unit D/LAB (3.5–6.5m, turquoise) gets the full Aluula Gold frame plus a reduced leading edge diameter for more speed and efficiency. It's the lightest, stiffest, most responsive wing Duotone make.
The Unit SLS (2.0–6.5m) runs a PentaTX frame with an Aluula Gold centre panel — so you get the stiffness where it matters most, at a much friendlier price, with increased low-end power and more direct response. Off green, light lime, or undyed Concept Blue. The standard Unit covers the same 2.0–6.5m spread in light grey or red, with smooth power delivery and refined canopy tension, and it's the one to pick if durability matters more than grams.
Skybrid D/LAB — the board that punches below its volume
Hollow Shell composite construction takes over 2kg off the total board weight for most sizes versus the SLS. The result is a board that pumps and responds like something much smaller than its volume suggests, with the earliest release and the lowest swing weight in the range. Diamond tail, recessed deck, extended carbon tracks, built for freeride, freefly and parawing. 5'5" 60l up to 6'1" 100l. The Skybrid SLS covers the same sizes with a midlength shape and moderate rocker.
Sky Style, Trace and the inflatables
The Sky Style SLS spans 4'2" 30l to 5'4" 95l with a step tail for early take-off and explosive pop, a compact outline for low swing weight and a high rocker line for jump clearance. The Sky Style is the same shape in vacuum sandwich construction for a lot less money. Trace SLS is the dedicated wave board with a pointy nose that copes better with whitewater. On the inflatable side, Skybrid Air and Sky Air both include a travel bag and multi pump, and the Sky Start DST has a new step tail that makes the crawl-on-and-release far less of an event for a beginner.

💡 Sam's Tip
The Unit SLS is the one I'd point most people at. You get the Aluula Gold centre panel and every one of this year's canopy, strut and handle changes, for a lot less than the D/LAB. Then put the difference into the foil — a bigger front wing will change your sessions far more than 80 grams of frame will. If you're buying your first setup, wait for the foils post next week and let us build the whole thing as a package.
