Finally, Sam from Worthing Watersports has reviewed the Duotone Foil Wing Midlength Skybrid Board!
The short review is, try one! You won't regret it! As Sam explains, mid-lengths cover the majority of the conditions we have in the UK. Everything from flat water to pretty big waves!
The long but flat outline helps the board glide along, creating stability before you get up onto your feet/foil. The narrow shape helps you with your tacks and carving due to being more over the centre line.
The long tail also helps keep the board stable when climbing on. Effectively making it feel like the foil is further forward!
Pros-
- initial glide
- allows you to use a smaller board in lighter winds
- easier pumping
- touch downs are easier to save
- easier to tack, ride switch and carve
Cons
- nose might catch on super big waves
- not the best at jumping
- not good for beginners
